Lord Ganesha is also known as Vighnaharta -Vanquisher of Obstacles and Vinayaka- Lord Of Obstacles.

Every new work or an auspicious ritual begins with name of Lord Ganesha, He is the one who removes all the obstacles from the way.

Lord Ganesha is always associated with fourth day of both waxing and waning moon. Talking about Sakashti Chaturthi which falls on fourth day of waning moon, Every single Lunar month( During Krishna Paksha) has a Sankashti chaturthi, waning of moon is considered inauspicious so praying to Lord Ganesha on this day not only removes obstacles but also protects against many dangers.

Also malefic effects of the lunar Node Ketu can be reduced by praying to Lord Ganesha. If you suffer from negative thoughts, confusion, health issues,unusual delays in work ,Debt, then Sankashti Chaturthi is the best remedy to remove your problems.

Whenever Sankashti Chaturthi falls on Tuesday, Its Known as Angarika Sankashti Chaturthi which even more auspicious of all the Sankashti chathurthi.

One can keep fast till the Moon rise on this day and break the fast by doing darshan of Chandra( looking at Moon) and offering prayers to Lord Ganesha or If your health doesn't allow fasting you can do Pooja by lighting a ghee lamp and offering Durva (Scutch grass), Hibiscus flowers(Red) to Lord Ganesha in a temple or even at home, what all matters is true devotion, pour your heart out and ask for his assistance not only on Sankashti days but everyday, He would surely revert you back with lots of love and blessings.
